Privacy Policy
This document is a generic template provided with the platform. Review and adapt it with qualified legal counsel before operating in your jurisdiction.
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the marketplace, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the choices you have. It applies to visitors, registered buyers and sellers, and broker teams.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed), phone number, locale and preferences.
- Listing and transaction data: business details you choose to publish, offers, messages, NDA acceptances, documents you upload and payment records.
- Usage data: pages viewed, searches performed and device information, collected in aggregated or pseudonymised form to improve the product and detect abuse.
- Payment data: processed by our payment providers; we never store full card numbers on our servers.
3. How we use data
We process personal data to operate the marketplace: publishing listings, routing enquiries, facilitating offers and escrow, sending transactional notifications and providing support. With your consent we send newsletter emails, which you can leave with one click at any time. We also process limited data where we have a legitimate interest in preventing fraud, enforcing our terms and keeping the Platform secure.
4. Sharing
Information you publish in a listing is visible according to the confidentiality mode you choose. Confidential details are only revealed to users you or your broker approve. We share data with service providers (hosting, email delivery, payment processing) under contracts that restrict their use of it, and with authorities where the law requires. We do not sell personal data.
5. Retention and security
We keep account data while your account is active and transaction records for as long as commercial and tax law requires. Documents attached to closed deals are retained according to the retention period communicated in the product. Data is encrypted in transit, access is role-restricted and administrative actions are logged.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your account settings, or by contacting us through the contact page. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
